The present study examines the impact of Mindfulness intervention focused on emotions for outpatients with schizophrenia who were registered in Community Mental Health Centers and Psychosocial Rehabilitation Centers. Trait Meta-Mood Scale(TMMS), Berkeley Expressivity Questionnaire(BEQ), Beck Depression Inventory(BDI), Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale(RSES), Brief Psychiatric Rating Scale(BPRS), Schizophrenia Quality of Life Scale(SQLS-R4K), Satisfaction With Life Scale(SWLS) and Life Satisfaction Expectancy Scale(LSES) were used for measurements. Only BPRS for symptom evaluation was an objective scale, while the others were self-report measures. The Mindfulness program group received 8 weekly sessions of 90 minutes mindfulness training over 8 weeks, while control group received usual psychiatric care. The data analysis revealed that participants in experimental group(n=28) significantly improved on depression, symptoms and on quality of life which was measured by SQLS-R4K in comparison with those of control group(n=28). In conclusion, this study discussed helpfulness of Mindfulness intervention focused on emotions and suggested considerations for future studies and psychosocial rehabilitation programs for outpatients with schizophrenia. And the limitation of this study were described.
